Lesson Objectives

  • Learn 8 place names in Arabic
  • Say "I go to..." with place names

🌅 Warm-Up (5 min)

Picture guessing: show partial images of places (mosque dome, hospital cross) — pupils guess and say Arabic name.

Main Activities

  1. 1Introduce 8 places: مسجد (mosque), مدرسة (school), مستشفى (hospital), حديقة (park), سوق (market), مكتبة (library), مطعم (restaurant), ملعب (playground)
  2. 2Flashcard matching: Arabic name to place picture
  3. 3Practise: "أذهب إلى..." (I go to...) with each place
  4. 4Complete the Places Vocab Cards worksheet

Follow the leader: teacher gives directions in Arabic — pupils follow (stand up, turn right, walk forward).

Main Activities

  1. 1Teach direction words: يمين (right), يسار (left), أمام (in front), خلف (behind), بجانب (next to)
  2. 2Map activity: give directions to different places on a simple map
  3. 3Pair work: one pupil gives directions, the other follows on the map
  4. 4Write directions from school to 2 different places
