Arabic Curriculum

A structured home-learning curriculum from Year 1 to Year 11, with three terms per year, four topics per term, and free printable worksheets for every topic.
Year 1: Arabic Foundations
السنة الأولى: أساسيات العربية
A gentle introduction to the Arabic language. Children learn to recognise and say Arabic letters, count to 10, name colours, and use basic greetings. The focus is on listening, speaking, and having fun with Arabic sounds.
Year 2: Building Blocks
السنة الثانية: اللبنات الأساسية
Children consolidate their alphabet knowledge, extend counting to 20, and learn vocabulary for family, animals, and days of the week. They begin to recognise simple written words and form very short phrases.
Year 3: Growing Vocabulary
السنة الثالثة: تنمية المفردات
Children expand their vocabulary significantly, learning words for body parts, fruits, vegetables, and school items. They begin forming simple sentences and explore numbers beyond 20. Reading and writing simple Arabic words becomes a focus.
Year 4: Everyday Arabic
السنة الرابعة: العربية اليومية
Children learn vocabulary for clothing, home, transport, and meals. They begin forming short sentences and asking simple questions. Reading and writing skills develop further, with a focus on everyday situations.
Year 5: Describing My World
السنة الخامسة: وصف عالمي
Children learn to describe the world around them in more detail. They explore seasons and weather, daily routines, adjectives, and places in their community. Sentence structures become more varied and children begin to express opinions.
Year 6: Confident Communicator
السنة السادسة: التواصل بثقة
Children develop confidence in reading, writing, and speaking Arabic. They explore jobs, sports, nature, and market interactions. Sentence structures become more complex, and children begin to read and write short paragraphs with greater independence.
Grammar Foundations
أسس القواعد
Build a strong grammatical foundation in Arabic. Learn pronouns, present tense verbs, question words, and adjectives while developing the ability to construct meaningful sentences.
Expanding Tenses and Reading

Expand your Arabic grammar by learning past and future tenses, negation, and longer sentence construction. Begin reading short Arabic texts and using Islamic phrases in context.
Communication and Fluency

Develop fluency in Arabic through paragraph writing, conversation practice, and reviewing all vocabulary domains. Learn the differences between formal and informal Arabic and master question formation.
Culture and Complex Language
الثقافة واللغة المعقدة
Develop complex language skills including relative clauses, opinion expression, and cultural awareness. Explore Arab world geography, food culture, festivals, and an introduction to Arabic literature.
Advanced Arabic and Assessment

Master advanced Arabic skills including essay writing, formal language, debate vocabulary, and media Arabic. Prepare for formal assessments and gain an introduction to Classical Arabic.
