I Am...

35–45 minutes

Lesson Objectives

  • Say "Ana..." (I am...) followed by a describing word
  • Form a simple sentence in Arabic

🌅 Warm-Up (5 min)

How do you describe yourself? Happy, tall, kind? Let's learn to say these in Arabic!

Main Activities

  1. 1Introduce "Ana..." (أنا — I am) + adjectives: sa'iid (happy), haziyn (sad), kabir (big/old)
  2. 2Emotion charades: act out an emotion — class says "Ana sa'iid!" or "Ana haziyn!"
  3. 3Write 4 "Ana..." sentences about yourself
  4. 4Pair share: read your sentences to a partner

Every evening, say how you feel in Arabic: "Ana sa'iid!" or "Ana ta'baan!" (I am tired!)

Lesson Objectives

  • Form sentences with "Urid..." (I want)
  • Combine "Urid" with vocabulary from this year

🌅 Warm-Up (5 min)

Recap "Ana" sentences — each child shares one "Ana..." sentence.

Main Activities

  1. 1Review "Urid..." (أريد — I want) and combine with new vocabulary: fruits, drinks, objects
  2. 2Sentence building: use word cards to build "Urid" sentences physically on the table
  3. 3Role-play: at a cafe or shop, order items using "Urid... min fadlak"
  4. 4Write 4 "Urid..." sentences and illustrate them

Order something at home using "Urid... min fadlak" — practise being polite in Arabic!

Lesson Objectives

  • Form sentences with "Hadha..." (this is) for masculine and "Hadhihi..." for feminine
  • Point to objects and name them in Arabic

🌅 Warm-Up (5 min)

Object naming: teacher points to objects — children say the Arabic name if they know it!

Main Activities

  1. 1Practise "Hadha kitaab" (this is a book), "Hadhihi tuffaha" (this is an apple)
  2. 2Classroom walk: point to objects and say "Hadha..." or "Hadhihi..."
  3. 3Write 6 "Hadha/Hadhihi" sentences about objects in the room
  4. 4Complete the writing practice worksheet for all sentence types

  • Form 3 types of sentences: Ana, Urid, Hadha/Hadhihi
  • Read and understand simple Arabic sentences

🌅 Warm-Up (5 min)

Sentence chain: each child says a different Arabic sentence — Ana, Urid, or Hadha!

Main Activities

  1. 1Create a "My First Sentences" mini-book with examples of all 3 sentence types
  2. 2Sentence scramble: unscramble word cards to form correct Arabic sentences
  3. 3Read a classmate's sentence book — can you understand their sentences?
