Tips & Hints
My Body
🌟
You don't need to be an Arabic expert to teach your child. Consistency, encouragement, and making it fun are far more important than perfection. These tips will help you feel confident and prepared.
🏫 For Teachers
- Body parts vocabulary is great for kinaesthetic learning — use Total Physical Response (TPR) extensively.
- "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes" in Arabic is a powerful learning tool — sing it daily!
- Arabic body part names are mostly short words — they are manageable for Year 3 children.
- Link body parts to the imperative: "Ilmas..." (touch your...) creates natural practice.
🏠 For Parents
- Body parts are easy to practise at home — point to parts and say the Arabic name!
- Bath time and getting dressed are great moments to practise body vocabulary in Arabic.
- Search for "Arabic body parts song for kids" on YouTube — there are fun versions to sing along to.
- Play "Simon Says" in Arabic — "Ilmas ra'sak!" (Touch your head!) — the whole family can join in.
💡 Learning Hints & Memory Tricks
- ✦"Ra's" (head) — it is a short word for something on top, just like how the head is on top of the body!
- ✦"Yad" (hand) — sounds like "yard" — you use your hand to measure a yard!
- ✦"Ayn" (eye) — sounds like the letter "I" — and you use your eye to see!
