Tips & Hints

Everyday Phrases

🌟

You don't need to be an Arabic expert to teach your child. Consistency, encouragement, and making it fun are far more important than perfection. These tips will help you feel confident and prepared.

🏫 For Teachers

  • "Urid" and "Uhibbu" are among the most useful phrases children can learn — they express real needs and preferences.
  • Create opportunities to use these phrases authentically: choosing snacks, activities, or resources.
  • Yes/No questions are the gateway to conversation — practise them in many different contexts.
  • Display phrase cards prominently and refer to them throughout the day.

🏠 For Parents

  • These everyday phrases are incredibly practical — your child can use them immediately at home!
  • Try asking "Urid maa?" (Do you want water?) at mealtimes — make Arabic part of real life.
  • "Na'am" (yes) and "La" (no) are the easiest Arabic words — start using them today!
  • Even if you do not speak Arabic, learning 4–5 phrases alongside your child takes just minutes.

💡 Learning Hints & Memory Tricks

  • "Urid" (I want) — think "You REED it, so you want it!"
  • "Uhibbu" (I like) — it has the word "hub" in it, which means love in Arabic!
  • "La" (no) is one of the easiest Arabic words — just two letters!
