Tips & Hints

Animal Friends

🌟

You don't need to be an Arabic expert to teach your child. Consistency, encouragement, and making it fun are far more important than perfection. These tips will help you feel confident and prepared.

🏫 For Teachers

  • Building on Year 1 animal vocabulary, children now learn to use animals in sentences — a big step.
  • Keep "Hadha/Hadhihi" simple — do not over-explain gender at this stage; children pick it up through exposure.
  • Use real animal toys alongside flashcards for a multi-sensory approach.
  • Display all 10 animal names on the wall with pictures for constant reference.

🏠 For Parents

  • Your child already knows some animals from Year 1 — ask them to teach you before learning the new ones!
  • When you see animals (books, TV, real life), prompt your child: "What is that in Arabic?"
  • Help your child write Arabic animal labels for their toy animals — it makes learning tangible.
  • The phrase "Hadha..." (this is...) is incredibly useful — encourage your child to use it everywhere.

💡 Learning Hints & Memory Tricks

  • "Qird" (monkey) — sounds a bit like "curious" — monkeys are very curious!
  • "Zurafa" (giraffe) — the word sounds graceful, just like a giraffe walks!
  • "Hisaan" (horse) sounds like "He's on (a horse)" — picture someone riding a horse!
