New Animal Friends

🌅 Warm-Up (5 min)

Year 1 animal recap: show flashcards of cat, dog, lion, elephant, rabbit, bird — who remembers?

Main Activities

  1. 1Introduce monkey (قرد), giraffe (زرافة), horse (حصان), dolphin (دلفين) with picture cards
  2. 2Animal charades: act out the new animals — others guess in Arabic
  3. 3Sort animals into categories (farm, wild, sea) while saying Arabic names
  4. 4Complete the picture-vocab worksheet with all 10 animals

  • Say "Hadha..." (this is a...) with an animal name
  • Form a simple sentence about animals

🌅 Warm-Up (5 min)

Animal flash: show a card for 2 seconds — children shout the Arabic animal name!

Main Activities

  1. 1Model sentence: "Hadha asad" (This is a lion), "Hadhihi qitta" (This is a cat)
  2. 2Explain: "Hadha" for masculine, "Hadhihi" for feminine — keep it simple
  3. 3Practice round: hold up animal cards — children say "Hadha/Hadhihi..." with the name
  4. 4Write 4 sentences about animals using "Hadha" or "Hadhihi"
