Alphabet Review & Song

🌟

You don't need to be an Arabic expert to teach your child. Consistency, encouragement, and making it fun are far more important than perfection. These tips will help you feel confident and prepared.

🏫 For Teachers

  • Not all children will know all 28 letters perfectly by end of Year 1 — that is fine. The goal is familiarity.
  • Some letters are genuinely difficult for English speakers (ع, غ, ح, خ) — be patient and use audio support.
  • Sing the alphabet song at transitions (lining up, tidying up) for extra exposure.
  • Pair children strategically for partner quizzes — stronger learners can model for others.

🏠 For Parents

  • Search for "Arabic alphabet song for kids" on YouTube — there are many catchy versions for the car!
  • Do not worry if your child cannot name all 28 — recognising most is a huge achievement at age 5-6.
  • Praise the effort, not perfection — "You said 20 letters! Amazing!" beats correcting the ones missed.
  • Arabic letters look very different from English — it takes time. Be patient and keep it fun.

💡 Learning Hints & Memory Tricks

  • The Arabic alphabet has 28 letters — only 2 more than English!
  • Many Arabic letters come in groups that look similar — once you know one, you almost know the group!
  • Some letters have 1 dot, some have 2, some have 3 — the dots change the letter completely!
