The Full Alphabet

Lesson Objectives

  • Hear and recognise all 28 Arabic letters
  • Follow along with the Arabic alphabet song

🌅 Warm-Up (5 min)

How many Arabic letters can the class name from memory? Count them up!

Main Activities

  1. 1Listen to the Arabic alphabet song — follow along with a large alphabet chart
  2. 2Sing the song a second time — point to each letter on the chart as you go
  3. 3Alphabet relay: teams race to arrange letter cards in alphabetical order
  4. 4Circle all the letters you can recognise on the alphabet worksheet

Tricky Letters

30–35 minutes

Lesson Objectives

  • Identify letters they find difficult
  • Practise tricky letters using multi-sensory methods

🌅 Warm-Up (5 min)

Speed alphabet: teacher points to letters on the chart — children call out names fast.

Main Activities

  1. 1Self-assessment: each child puts a sticker on 5 letters they find tricky on the chart
  2. 2Tricky letter stations: rotate through sand tracing, playdough, whiteboard, and flashcard stations
  3. 3Partner quiz: take turns testing each other on the tricky letters
  4. 4Complete the tracing worksheet focusing on harder letters (ع, غ, ق, etc.)

Alphabet Games Day

  • Recognise most Arabic letters on sight
  • Enjoy learning the alphabet through play

🌅 Warm-Up (5 min)

Alphabet exercise: for every letter you say, do a star jump — see how far you get!

Main Activities

  1. 1Alphabet bingo: full 28-letter bingo with Arabic letter cards
  2. 2Letter fishing: use a magnet rod to "catch" letters from a bowl — name each one
  3. 3Alphabet art: create a beautiful poster, writing each letter in a different colour
  4. 4Sing the alphabet song WITHOUT looking at the chart!

I Know My Alphabet!

30–35 minutes

  • Say all 28 Arabic letters in order
  • Feel proud and confident about alphabet knowledge

🌅 Warm-Up (5 min)

Countdown: sing the alphabet song — can the class get through it in under 60 seconds?

Main Activities

  1. 1Individual challenge: each child says as many letters as they can — celebrate every attempt!
  2. 2Letter-word matching: match each letter to a picture starting with that letter
  3. 3Create a personal "I Know My Arabic Alphabet" certificate with their name in Arabic letters
  4. 4Class photo with the alphabet chart — "We are Arabic alphabet champions!"
