🌅 Warm-Up (5 min)

Nature photo gallery: display 6 photos of different landscapes — students describe what they see using any Arabic they know.

Main Activities

  1. 1Teach nature vocabulary: جبل (mountain), بحر (sea), صحراء (desert), غابة (forest), نهر (river), بحيرة (lake), شاطئ (beach), واحة (oasis)
  2. 2Describe each landscape using adjectives: الصحراء واسعة وجافة (The desert is vast and dry)
  3. 3Comparison activity: compare two landscapes using comparatives — الجبل أعلى من التل (The mountain is higher than the hill)

Environment brainstorm: what are the biggest environmental problems facing the world? List them in English, then learn the Arabic.

Main Activities

  1. 1Teach environmental vocabulary: تلوث (pollution), تلوث الهواء (air pollution), تلوث الماء (water pollution), قطع الأشجار (deforestation), تغير المناخ (climate change), انقراض (extinction)
  2. 2Problem-cause-solution framework: for each issue, identify the problem, its cause, and a possible solution
  3. 3Read a short text about environmental issues in the Arab world — answer comprehension questions
  4. 4Writing practice: write about one environmental problem — describe it, explain the cause, suggest a solution

Green audit: as a class, list 5 things your school does (or could do) for the environment — say each in Arabic.

Main Activities

  2. 2Opinion phrases for discussion: يجب علينا أن (we must), من المهم أن (it is important that), أعتقد أنه يجب (I think we should)

Nature word web: create a mind map connecting all the nature and environment vocabulary learned this topic.

Main Activities

  1. 1Plan a 3-paragraph persuasive text: paragraph 1 = the problem, paragraph 2 = what we should do, paragraph 3 = the future
  2. 2Include: opinions, reasons, connectives, all three tenses, persuasive language
  3. 3Write the full text independently (15+ sentences across 3 paragraphs)
  4. 4Picture vocab activity: create an environmental awareness poster with Arabic text
