Shopping Vocabulary and Prices

🌅 Warm-Up (5 min)

Market sounds: play audio of an Arab market — what can students hear? What might people be saying?

Main Activities

  1. 1Teach shopping vocabulary: محل (shop), سوق (market), ثمن (price), نقود (money), فلوس (cash, colloquial), باهظ (expensive), رخيص (cheap)
  2. 2Key phrase: كم الثمن؟ / بكم هذا؟ (How much is this?) — practice asking and answering with numbers
  3. 3Price tag activity: label items with Arabic prices and practise asking/answering
  4. 4Vocab cards worksheet: write shopping vocabulary with illustrations and example phrases
