Neighbourhood brainstorm: list all the places and people in your neighbourhood — how many can you say in Arabic?

Main Activities

  1. 1Introduce community vocabulary: مجتمع (community), جار (neighbour), حي (neighbourhood), شارع (street), ساحة (square/plaza)
  2. 2Combine with known place vocabulary: مسجد, مدرسة, مستشفى, حديقة, سوق, مكتبة
  3. 3Write descriptive sentences: "في حيّي مسجد كبير ومدرسة جميلة" (In my neighbourhood there is a big mosque and a beautiful school)
  4. 4Complete the Community Vocab Cards worksheet
