Lesson Objectives

🌅 Warm-Up (5 min)

Sentence jumble: give pupils word cards — can they arrange them into a correct Arabic sentence?

Main Activities

  1. 1Explain Arabic sentence structure: subject + verb + object (or verb + subject + object)
  2. 2Provide word cards: pupils build sentences by selecting a subject, verb, and object
  3. 3Model 5 example sentences on the board, colour-coding subject/verb/object

Joining Ideas with "و" (and)

Lesson Objectives

  • Use "و" (and) to join two sentences
  • Write compound sentences

🌅 Warm-Up (5 min)

Read two short sentences — ask: how can we join them? Introduce و (and).

Main Activities

  1. 1Teach using و (wa - and) to join sentences: "أحب القراءة وأحب الرسم" (I like reading and I like drawing)
  2. 2Practise joining 5 pairs of sentences using و
  3. 3Introduce other connectives: في (in), على (on), من (from), إلى (to)
  4. 4Write 4 compound sentences using different connectives

Describing Actions

Lesson Objectives

  • Use verbs in present tense sentences
  • Describe what people do

🌅 Warm-Up (5 min)

Action relay: teacher does an action — first pupil to say the Arabic verb wins.

Main Activities

  1. 1Review key verbs: يأكل (eats), يشرب (drinks), يلعب (plays), يقرأ (reads), يكتب (writes)
  2. 2Build sentences with pronouns: "هو يلعب" (He plays), "هي تقرأ" (She reads)
  3. 3Picture description: describe what people in pictures are doing, in Arabic
  4. 4Write 5 sentences describing different people's actions

Sentence Building Review

⏱ 35–40 minutes

Lesson Objectives

  • Demonstrate sentence building skills
  • Write varied and accurate sentences

🌅 Warm-Up (5 min)

Sentence auction: teacher reads sentences (some correct, some wrong) — pupils bid on correct ones.

Main Activities

  1. 1Tracing worksheet for key connectives and prepositions
  2. 2Assessment activity: write 6 sentences on a topic of choice (family, food, school)
  3. 3Peer review: swap with a partner and check each other's sentences
  4. 4Share favourite sentences with the class
