Welcome to My House

Lesson Objectives

  • Learn 6 room names in Arabic
  • Say "in the..." for each room

🌅 Warm-Up (5 min)

Show a picture of a house cross-section — ask pupils to guess the Arabic name for each room.

Main Activities

  1. 1Introduce 6 rooms: مطبخ (kitchen), غرفة نوم (bedroom), حمّام (bathroom), صالة (living room), غرفة طعام (dining room), مدخل (hallway)
  2. 2Flashcard matching: Arabic word to room picture
  3. 3Practise saying "في ال..." (in the...) with each room name
  4. 4Complete the Room Vocab Cards worksheet — cut out and match

Describing My Favourite Room

Show two rooms (big vs small, tidy vs messy) — pupils describe the difference in Arabic.

Main Activities

  • Give a simple house tour in Arabic
  • Consolidate all house vocabulary

🌅 Warm-Up (5 min)

Memory game: show room flashcards for 10 seconds, then hide — how many rooms can pupils name?

Main Activities

  1. 1Tracing worksheet for room vocabulary words
  2. 2Pupils create a mini booklet: one page per room with a drawing and Arabic label
  3. 3Practise giving a house tour: "هذا المطبخ... هذه غرفة النوم..." (This is the kitchen... this is the bedroom...)
