Presentation audit: watch a short Arabic presentation clip — what makes it effective? List 5 features.

Main Activities

  1. 1Presentation structure: opening (greeting and topic introduction), body (3 main points), conclusion (summary and opinion)
  2. 2Practice techniques: eye contact, pace, pronunciation, using prompt cards not reading a script
  3. 3Prepare a 2-minute presentation on a topic of choice from the Year 10-11 curriculum
  4. 4Writing practice: write prompt cards with key vocabulary and phrases for your presentation

Responding to Unpredictable Questions

  • Use repair strategies when making mistakes in speaking

Question roulette: spin a wheel of random Arabic questions — answer each one spontaneously in 30 seconds.

Main Activities

  2. 2Unpredictable question practice: teacher asks follow-up questions that learners have not prepared for

Role play warm-up: act out buying a train ticket in Arabic — swap roles after 1 minute.

Main Activities

  1. 1Role play scenarios: at a hotel, in a restaurant, at the doctor, shopping, asking for directions
  2. 2Practice in pairs: complete 3 different role play scenarios using prompt cards
  3. 3Focus on tense variety: incorporate past (I visited), present (I am staying), and future (I will go) in each role play
  4. 4Peer feedback: observe another pair and give feedback on accuracy, fluency, and tense variety

Mock Speaking Exam
