- Share the exam mark scheme with learners early — understanding what examiners reward demystifies the process.

- Practise timed writing regularly so learners build stamina and time management skills before the real exam.
- Differentiate by providing sentence starters for weaker writers while challenging stronger writers to use more sophisticated structures.
