Tips & Hints
More Arabic Letters
🌟
You don't need to be an Arabic expert to teach your child. Consistency, encouragement, and making it fun are far more important than perfection. These tips will help you feel confident and prepared.
🏫 For Teachers
- Spend extra time on letters that look similar (e.g. د/ذ, ر/ز) — highlight the distinguishing dot.
- Let children handle physical letter cards and sort them — tactile learning is powerful at this age.
- Revisit previously learned letters at the start of every lesson to keep them fresh.
- Use consistent colour coding if possible — e.g. dotted letters in blue, plain letters in green.
🏠 For Parents
- Play "letter of the day" at home — pick one Arabic letter each morning and spot it everywhere.
- Magnetic Arabic letters on the fridge are a great low-effort way to build familiarity.
- Don't worry about perfect pronunciation — enthusiasm and effort matter more at this stage.
- If your child confuses similar letters, that is completely normal! Gently point out the dot differences.
💡 Learning Hints & Memory Tricks
- ✦Dal (د) has no dots, but Dhal (ذ) has one dot on top — think "Dhal has a Dot!"
- ✦Ra (ر) is plain, but Zay (ز) has a dot — "Zay has some Zing (a dot)!"
- ✦Sin (س) looks like three little teeth — it even sounds like a snake hissing!
